Generation One – an initiative from the Mindaroo Foundation – is supporting the launch of the 2022 Dream Venture Masterclasses, with applications for this year’s program closing on 10 July.
Now in its third year, Dream Venture is one of Australia’s leading Indigenous accelerator programs supporting entrepreneurs to prepare their venture for growth, connect with mentors, investors and peers to help bring their entrepreneurial dreams to life.
Minderoo Foundation’s Generation One initiative is inviting Australia’s Indigenous entrepreneurs to put their hand up for Dream Venture Masterclasses for their chance to access world class training, mentorship and be in the running to take a share of $150,000 in seed funding at a national gala showcase.
The masterclass is run in partnership with the United Nations, Youth Co:Lab and delivered by the Wade Institute of Entrepreneurship.
Generation One’s Dream Venture Masterclasses, which have already trained more than 120 Indigenous business owners, will this year deliver two tailored programs:
• The Youth Program will offer places to 20 of Australia’s brightest young First Nations founders between the ages of 18 – 30.
• The Open Age Program will offer places to 20 of Australia’s most exciting First Nations entrepreneurs of any age.
Youth Program
In an Australian first, the Youth Program will be run in partnership with the United Nations’ Youth Co:Lab, sponsored by Citi Foundation, the largest youth social entrepreneurship program in the Asia Pacific. Through this partnership, Dream Venture entrepreneurs will be given the chance to connect with the best and brightest from the Asia Pacific, tap into global networks and secure mentorship from some of the region’s most successful founders.
All participants in the Youth Program will make a pitch to share in $75,000 in seed funding from Minderoo Foundation.
Open Age Program
The Open Age Dream Venture Masterclass will be tailored to support 20 entrepreneurs of all ages to prepare their enterprise for growth and connect with mentors, investors and peers to help bring their entrepreneurial dreams to life.
All participants in the Open Age Program will make a pitch to share in $75,000 in seed funding from Minderoo Foundation.
Through the masterclasses, Indigenous entrepreneurs will:
• Be equipped with key strategies to raise capital and become investor-ready;
• Meet like-minded Indigenous entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders; and
• Understand how to develop and grow a sustainable business that balances social and economic returns.
