// Here are some of the top speakers we're looking forward to hearing from at the CyberWest Summit next week.

The annual CyberWest Summit is happening next week, May 15th and 16th, hosted at Pan Pacific Perth. It’s the cybersecurity education and awareness event that every startup and tech leader should consider attending.

Last year’s event saw 526 delegates attend with more than 100 presentations and 30 exhibitors.

Here are some of the speakers we’re looking forward to hearing from.

Key speakers

Frank Abignale Jr

Frank W. Abagnale is one of the world’s most respected authorities on the subjects of forgery, embezzlement and secure documents. For over forty years he has lectured to and consulted with hundreds of financial institutions, corporations, and government agencies around the world.

You likely know him best from the book and movie, Catch Me If You Can, starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Alex Jenkins

Director — WA Data Science Innovation Hub

Alex is a great speaker and advocate for the uptake of AI and data science solutions in new sectors. His sessions are always both educational and entertaining which make him a great person to learn from.

Seeyew Mo

Assistant National Cyber Director for Workforce, Education, and Awareness —
Office of the National Cyber Director, The White House

You don’t often have the opportunity to hear from someone from the White House. It’ll be interesting to hear what Seeyew speaks about, how the Office of the National Cyber Director operates and the challenges they regularly face.

Gillian van Rensburg

Data Privacy Specialist — VGW

VGW is one of WA’s biggest tech success stories and given their industry, data privacy is paramount. In particular, I look forward to hearing from Gillian how they combat identity verification and fraud while maintaining data privacy.

Jasmine Rodet

Manager, Cyber Security — Fortescue

Jasmine has cyber security experience across a couple of Australia’s key industries and economic drivers, banking and resources. It will be fascinating to hear about the cyber challenges faced throughout her career to date and what she see as most important over the coming years.

Craig Ford

Cofounder and Executive Director — Cyber Unicorns
Best-selling author — A Hacker, I Am

A best-selling author and a cyber security leader with more than 20 years of experience in the sector. Craig has worked across blue teams, red teams, and consulting engagements and will have a lot of stories to tell from that varied experience.
