// Kicking off in May 2020, two local tech entrepreneurs will take part in the national Springboard Australia bootcamp.

Running over two months, for two sessions per week, the bootcamp will prepare entrepreneurs for growing and developing their businesses. During bootcamp, entrepreneurs will have the chance to learn from experts and will be exposed to potential investors from Australia and the United States.

This year, WA will be represented by Lucy Cooke of SpaceDraft and Suzanne Dodds of Complete Home Filtration.

Lucy Cooke – SpaceDraft

Lucy (see main photo) founded SpaceDraft in 2017 to help creatives and technologists effectively transmit thoughts in a unique way in preparation for the spatial computing age.

SpaceDraft is multi-dimensional cloud-based collaboration software that gives anyone with a computer the tools to define, coordinate and distribute their plans for visual, audio and haptic information prior to production.

Lucy previously worked in Hollywood production and visual effects on big-budget projects such as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell no Tales, Soldaldo: Sicario, Valerian, Hacksaw Ridge and Game of Thrones to name a few.

Lucy’s passion for building virtual worlds led her to invent SpaceDraft, which was accepted into the Village Roadshow/Microsoft accelerator in Melbourne where she was the youngest entrant and only female founder.

Lucy strongly believes that women are just as capable of being tech entrepreneurs as men and she is determined to carve a wider path for young female tech enthusiasts

Lucy commented on her successful selection for the 2020 SBE Australia Tech Program:

“When women help other women…nothing is impossible. I’m very grateful to the amazing women who encouraged me to go for this extraordinary program. Team SpaceDraft is a collective effort. I just want to learn to be the best leader that I can be.”

Suzanne Dodds

Suzanne has been internationally recognised as a leader in the water filtration industry, founding Call a Cooler before more recently establishing Complete Home Filtration, which has seen exponential growth. Suzanne is one of the first recipients to obtain investment from RAC’s BetterLabs seed fund, secured grant funds from the federal government’s Accelerating Commercialisation Program and took out WiTWA’s First Amongst Equals Award in 2019.

On why she decided to apply for the 2020 SBE Australia Tech Program, Suzanne says:

“Our new proprietary filtration technology is showing 100% removal rates of all PFAS compounds during our trials and will be ready for product launch here in Australia within the next 3 months and for the USA, by the end of the year.

“With over 110 million Americans estimated to be drinking contaminated tap water, I’m extremely excited to be participating in this year’s SBE’s Tech program.

“Completing the program will hopefully enable us to bring this product to a wider market faster and to be able to provide solutions to people living in PFAS contamination areas around the world.”

Suzanne Dodds
