Spacecubed has today been announced as the operator for the Western Sydney Startup Hub (WSSH).

The news comes as Spacecubed celebrated its tenth birthday last month.

The Sydney hub will be fitted with 1,500 square metres of affordable co-working space in the revitalised Parramatta North Heritage Precinct.

“Technology and innovation are at the heart of attracting significant global investment in NSW, helping to create the jobs of the future for our next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs in Western Sydney,” said Alister Henskens, the Minister for Enterprise, Investment and Trade.

Spacecubed offers the best and most diverse services for WSSH, ensuring a bright and competitive future for Western Sydney’s innovation and technology sectors.

The hub is set to open in October, with $300,000 worth of funding from the NSW government to assist with its fit-out. Specific features of the space include 24/7 access, private spaces for 1 – 40 people and membership offerings ranging from private offices to co-working and resident desks.

Parking is available, along with events space, breakout spaces, boardrooms and end-of-trip facilities including a bike storage room and showers.

As part of the operator agreement, Spacecubed has committed to a minimum 70% of desks at the Hub for startups and small-to-medium enterprises at affordable rates. A minimum of 20 scholarships annually for social impact startups, and free-discounted spaces for program participants, also form part of the agreement.

WSSH members will have access to the Australia-wide Spacecubed community, which includes an online platform that can be utilised to build organic connections, an extensive member benefits library and discounts across a suite of software such as Hubspot, AWS, Stripe and Google for Startups. Additionally, members will have access to events and programs targeted at entrepreneurs and major companies.

Programs Spacecubed facilitates include the popular She Codes Program and the Plus Eight Accelerator program.

Spacecubed Founder and Managing Director Brodie McCulloch said the hub will cement Western Sydney as a major destination for technology and innovation globally.

“The innovation and technology sector is rapidly growing in Sydney and we’re privileged to play a key role in its expansion as part of the WSSH,” Mr McCulloch said, in a statement.

This is an opportunity to provide amazing facilities and programs to the local community along with hosting a range of activities that will drive collaboration and growth opportunities across the sector.
