Through all the usual ups and downs of startup life, the quest for seed funding can mark an important early milestone.

For six promising startups based in Perth, this chapter has recently unfolded, setting the stage for their ascent into Phase Two of the prestigious Plus Eight accelerator program. According to the folks behind Plus Eight, these six have the potential to make waves in their respective industries.

This pioneering platform boasts a range of offerings, including online courses, cohort-based learning, community support, and one-on-one telehealth appointments. Pharmacy Halo: innovated by a pharmacist with an eye for tech solutions, Pharmacy Halo resolves time-consuming issues within pharmacies through cleverly designed applications. These applications promise to rectify slow and inefficient systems within the community pharmacy environment, ushering in a new era of efficiency.

Piksort: bridging the gap between Snapchat and Dropbox, Piksort is a tailor-made solution catering specifically to construction contractors. By simplifying project photo management, Piksort keeps teams connected, on track, and facilitates easy progress tracking and success showcasing.

Quarterback: navigating the shifting landscape of investor relations for publicly listed companies, Quarterback introduces a groundbreaking platform aimed at helping CEOs attract and retain investors. It’s poised to revolutionize how businesses connect with their stakeholders.

Tradable: addressing the plight of retail investors, who often grapple with emotional trading, missed opportunities, fatigue, and human error, the Tradable platform seeks to empower traders to create, test, and share automated trading systems within the cryptocurrency community, alleviating common obstacles faced by retail investors.

Half a Dozen of the Other

These six founders will collectively share in more than $400,000 of seed funding. Additionally, they are set to embark on an international immersion trip to Israel next month, where they will engage with international venture capitalists and investors. The pinnacle of their journey will be the chance to present their innovative concepts at the program’s final Demo Night, scheduled as part of West Tech Fest on December 5.

The 2023 Plus Eight Accelerator is proudly supported by a consortium of corporate investors, including Capricorn Society, Woodside Energy, RAC BetterLabs, Vici Ventures, Hawaiian, Adapt by Design, Jackson McDonald and DFK Gooding Partners.

Since its inception in 2017, Plus Eight has seeded and mentored more than 60 innovative Asia-Pacific companies, nurturing them through its accelerator program. The program has invested $2 million in local startups, and facilitated an additional $16 million in follow-on investments, culminating in a total portfolio valuation of $106 million.
