Are you an innovator based in Western Australia?
Local member for Churchlands, Christine Tonkin MLA, is conducting a research project into local innovation in Western Australia. Anybody that considers themselves to be an innovator, is based in WA, and runs a startup or innovative SME may participate.
The initial stage of the project is a survey, with two main outputs.
Firstly, there will be a publicly available report on the variety and nature of local innovation.
This will include the patterns of challenges faced by innovators and potential opportunities available to the government to facilitate local innovation. Upon publication, the report would be intended for the government and the innovator community.
The second output is a publicly available opt-in database of local innovators containing information that will help local innovators network to foster relationships while enabling further development of innovation within the state of Western Australia.
It should be noted that you don’t have to opt into the database to complete the survey. If you do opt in, you can specify the information that is included.
In regards to the information that is publicly available, all data will be anonymised. There is also scope for future stages of this project where the focus will be on specific areas of innovations, which will most likely be informed by the findings of this survey.

“The potential of local innovators to contribute to the diversification of our economy, to address climate change and to enhance our quality of life is enormous.
This is why I am sponsoring this survey to enhance understanding of the nature of local innovations and to identify how best to support those who invest so much of themselves in their pursuit.
