The annual Plus Eight tech accelerator program has chosen its initial 18 companies it will invite to its bootcamp next weekend, from which up to 14 will be chosen to run through the 10-week first phase of mentoring and support, that comes with the program proper.
Rather than select 6 to 8 up front, the program first introduced this staged approach last year, so it can have a good look at the companies and founders, before committing its investment resources and time on such a small group.
This seemed to work well last year, with two of the graduating class then winning significant funding following the completion of the program
