Scalare Partners recently announced the return of the Australian Technologies Competition for 2024, recognising and accelerating homegrown scale-ups with global potential after it acquired the event in 2023.

Hype Man for the Australian Tech & Innovation Ecosystem, Dickie Currer told Startup News, “The Australian Technologies Competition provides the perfect opportunity for our ecosystem to showcase the Innovators who are best in class and how Australian Tech companies are some of the best in the world.”

“I’m so excited to see the top talent that enters and how this springboards them to even greater things.”

What is the Australian Technologies Competition

The competition — often regarded as one of the top competitions in Australia’s tech industry — has opened to nominations and is accepting applications until May 24th, 2024.

It’s open to Australia-based technology companies across various sectors, including fintech, regtech, agribusiness, medtech, cybersecurity, social impact, and more.

Companies can enter up to two categories each across a total of 16 award categories, with each finalist in the running to win the overall ‘Australian Technology Company of the Year’ Award. This year. The competition has introduced two new categories — Best Tech Journalist and Best Ecosystem Partner — which recognise contributions to the sector.

Successful applicants will have the chance to connect with industry experts and investors, while semi-finalists will receive networking opportunities, mentoring from an industry expert, and masterclass sessions.

Finalists will be announced on August 22, 2024, and will then pitch their technology to the competition’s judging panel.
