Trendwise, the product built by Perth-based analytics company Inhouse Group, has been selected for the first Shanghai Landing Pad. Here’s the press release.

Perth-based analytics company, ‘Trendwise’ by Inhouse Group, is thrilled to announce that it has been selected in the very first cohort of Australian companies to participate in an acceleration program at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission’s (Austrade) new Landing Pad in Shanghai, China.Trendwise Landing in Shanghai

As part of the Australian Government’s National Innovation and Science Agenda, five ‘innovation hubs’, also known as Landing Pads, have been established in San Francisco, Berlin, Singapore, Tel Aviv and Shanghai.

The Landing Pads give Australian entrepreneurs access to a network of contacts and opportunities across the globe. Trendwise is taking part in an intensive residency at an established co-working space and receiving tailored business development assistance from Austrade.
During the first week, Trendwise was formally welcomed by Mr. Graeme Meehan, Australia’s Consul-General to Shanghai, who said:

“I commend their decision to explore the China market, Shanghai is a key part of China’s dynamic innovation environment, and provides the perfect starting point for these Australian startups to grow their business in China.”

In Shanghai, the program consists of a 90-day placement at the XNode co-working space. XNode and their ‘Xelerator’ program host some of the world’s most innovative technology startups, providing in-market business development, mentorship and partnership opportunities. Clinton House, Trendwise CEO and founder, said:

“The first weeks here in Shanghai have opened my eyes wider than they’ve ever been. The scale of the opportunity that exists for Australian companies in China is enormous, Austrade has assembled a world-class network here and I am excited to see what the next few months bring. I’ve spent some time with fellow Landing Pad participants, Phil from Euclideon, Teresa from Chozun and Pawan from Language Your Way, who themselves have fantastic products and contribute their unique perspectives of the local market.

We’ve even begun identifying collaboration opportunities in China together. Trendwise’s selection in the cohort reinforces the company’s 2017 commitment and expansion focus on Asia and beyond.”

With China’s population expected to reach 1.42 billion by 2020, the Trendwise intelligent location platform enables multiple stakeholders to gain business insight and understanding of highly contextual real-world analytics. Peter Rossdeutscher, Chairman of Inhouse Group, said:

“China is a multi-billion dollar market for smart city analytics and retail precincts. Leveraging Austrade’s local market knowledge and networks enables high-growth companies like Trendwise to capitalise on that potential. We are delighted to be part of the first cohort at the Landing Pad in Shanghai.”
