Vocus Upstart participating startup, Yabble, has just announced the launch of kids holiday bookings, in the Western suburbs area of Perth.
Yabble is designed for parents to find holiday activities near them to book their children into an array of programs from art, writing and drama workshops to sports camps and even specialised cricket training. On Yabble, parents have free use of the site to find activities for their children with location based filtering.
“What we’ve found is that distance is one of the most important factors for parents making decisions on what activities they book their kids into”, says Powell, “but this is only the first of many features of Yabble to come” said Yabble Co-founder and CEO, Anna Powell “this soft launch is incredibly exciting for us. We’ve received an overwhelmingly positive response from the early parents and activity providers who have used the site so far” she added.
Activity Providers that run children’s holiday programs and after school activities can list on Yabble for no upfront fee. When bookings are made through the site Yabble takes a small commission, which acts as a replacement cost of customer acquisition and aids small businesses with marketing, finding new customers and accepting online bookings.
Yabble is currently part of the Vocus Upstart Accelerator program for entrepreneurs based in Western Australia. In the program seven technology startups are invested in and mentored by leading industry experts from Perth and the wider Australia, which was featured this week on Today Tonight.
Although they are currently focused on the Western Suburbs, Yabble plan to expand across Perth in the coming months.
