// Do you have a great idea or innovation that could turn into a business opportunity? Then Curtin University has a great opportunity to help you make it a reality…
Launched 10 years ago, Curtin Ignition is an annual intensive, one-week training program for aspiring entrepreneurs, academics and corporate innovators to both trial and prepare business ideas for the commercial environment.
This year’s Ignition will run from August 30 to September 4, and applications are now open.
The program is filled with practical teaching sessions, expert clinics, mentor sessions and experienced advice and support from leading entrepreneurs and innovators. This will give attendees the tools, contacts and confidence to transform their ideas into successful business ventures.
Curtin University Faculty of Business and Law Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Nigel de Bussy said the Curtin Ignition program had gone from strength to strength over the past decade, last year branching out to hold a program in Singapore.
“Entrepreneurs with a desire to further develop their ideas are able to benefit from the mentorship, knowledge and skills of the Curtin Ignition team and top experts,” Professor de Bussy said.
“The Curtin Ignition program has certainly helped diversify WA’s economy and fuel our start-up ecosystem. Over its 9 years, the program has played a vital part in launching 370 new businesses, the creation of 297 jobs and Alumni have raised +$56M in funding.”

The financial investment for attendees is $3,250, which includes all materials, mentoring, networking sessions, buffet lunches, drinks and a final celebration dinner. However, there are also a number of scholarships up for grabs.
