UK Trade and Investment Australia (UKTI) has announced the ten delegates it will be sending to the UK to take part in London FinTech Week. Four of the ten are Perth startups.

The UKTI FinTech Mission gives the delegates the opportunity to participate in London Fintech Week, meet with London-based FinTech accelerators, receive advice from specialist mentors and work with highly regarded industry experts through an exclusive programme organised by UKTI. You can read the full list of startups in the delegation here: UKTI Press Release

CrowdfundUP, one of the four Perth startups selected to attend the initiative, launched in March this year and recently closed their first crowdfunding deal for Perth-based property developer, Megara. CrowdfundUP’s next project, a commercial shopping centre in Queensland, will be available to investors in coming weeks.

londonJack Quigley, founder of CrowdFundUP, said: “We are thrilled to have been selected to participate in the UKTI FinTech Mission to London. FinTech has developed into an exciting and innovative sector and it’s a fantastic opportunity for CrowdfundUP to learn from industry leaders and experience the thriving FinTech industry in London. CrowdfundUP are proud to be leading the Australian Fintech movement in Perth and the opportunity to explore expansion and growth in the UK is exciting for not only us, but for Australian startups.”

We reported recently on Pin Payments‘ ability to stay operational in the face of infrastructure problems. Grant Bissett, Pin’s CEO, said of the UKIT delegation: “We’re stoked to be joining several Perth companies in this project, and we’re really excited about UKTI creating better connections between startups and financial services in Australia and the UK.”
Isaac Dury, founder of TidyClub, said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing TidyClub to the UK with support from UK Trade and Investment and British Airways. We will be looking to build partnerships to further grow our business throughout Europe and beyond.”
Al Bentley, founder of  Simply Wall St, which grew out of a Startup Weekend Perth team back in 2013, had this to say: “Being accepted on the UKTI trip is super exciting for us. 75% of our users are from outside Australia, and that’s without a single piece of press coverage overseas. There are also heaps of potential partners we are in discussions with from London so it will be a great opportunity to meet them in person.”

Well done folks, good luck in the UK, let us know how you get on!
