Mike Searle from EndomolShine Australia informs me that Shark Tank Australia is returning for their third season, and are casting for startups this month.
After the success of the first two seasons of Shark Tank Australia, they are now casting this month for season three of the popular television show. Have you got a groundbreaking idea, invention or business proposal that needs to be taken to the next level? If so, this could be the break you are looking for. If you get on the show, and aren’t convincing with the sharks, don’t despair – there is plenty of exposure just be getting your five minutes of fame on national television.
To start the application process, you need to meet three basic criteria, which are;
- You must be an Australian Resident or Citizen
- You must be available for one day between the 5th of September and 23rd of September 2016
- You must be available between the 7th of November and the 9th of December 2016
If you meet this criteria, then there is a lengthy multi-page application form, a requirement for a head shot photo, and full body photo, as well as a pitch video of up to three minutes to be uploaded.
Should you successfully complete the above and the casting team judge you as suitable for the next stage, they will contact you to discuss the next steps.
What should be included in your Pitch video?
The casting team say that you should be creative, be unique and pitch your business or product to the camera in 3 minutes or less. They want to ensure that you cover in that three minutes of video, six main points. These are;
- What investment amount are you seeking?
- What percentage of equity are you prepared to give in exchange?
- How much money have you invested in the company?
- What was the gross income of your business last year? (If any)
- Describe your business or product to us.
- How did you come up with the idea?
