It’s time to ignite your entrepreneurial spirit alongside some of Perth’s leading innovators for the 20th Startup Weekend in Perth, hosted at Riff, powered by Spacecubed.
Startup Weekend is a 54-hour whirlwind event where participants dive headfirst into the exhilarating world of entrepreneurship. From crafting their initial pitches and forming teams to validating markets, designing prototypes, and refining business models, it’s a Silicon Valley-style event designed to unleash your inner innovator.
This year will be the 20th Startup Weekend in Perth and it’s set to be the biggest event yet, inviting back all past winners, participants, and mentors from previous Startup Weekends, adding an extra layer of experience and expertise to our community. This is also an excellent opportunity for newcomers to dive into the excitement and collaborate with passionate innovators, change-makers, and industry experts.
Nate Sturcke, Founder of Skills of the Modern Age and Ecosystem Lead at Meshpoints, will be facilitating the weekend. He’s been instrumental in hosting numerous early Startup Weekends in Perth, making him the perfect facilitator for the 20th edition.
How does Startup Weekend work?
- Friday (5:00 pm – 8:00 pm): We kick off Startup Weekend with networking, followed by pitches where teams form organically around the top ideas.
- Saturday and Sunday (9:00 am – 7:00 pm): Teams dive deep into developing their ideas, experiencing the highs and lows of startup life.
- Sunday Night (5:00 pm – 8:00 pm): It’s pitch time! Teams present their ideas and the winning teams are crowned, with lots of great prizes on offer this year.

Anyone can attend Startup Weekend Perth. You don’t need to be a past winner or participant to get involved. Whether you’re 18 or 88; whether you’re an artist, engineer, writer, designer, or entrepreneur; whether you have an idea or no idea at all — everyone is welcome.
