Running for the first time this year, and starting the day after International Podcast Day, #PerthPodcastWeek will take place from 1st to 4th October.
Co-creator and Senior Manager at Spacecubed, Kali Norman is delighted for the opportunity to partner and build relationships with some of Perth’s leading audio experts.
“The potential for businesses and individuals within the WA community to extend their reach with podcasts is immense”, said Kali, “Whether it’s for work, or for a passion project and we are keen to help bring bandwidth and support to this creative field.”
The week kicks off with the chance to connect with other media professionals and budding podcasters, as well as enjoy a few cold drinks with Zion Ong, founder and director of Alyka, presenting a keynote on ‘101 Podcasting Lessons’.
Zion hosts the ‘Ask Alyka‘ podcast, which has published over 80 episodes all about digital marketing.
The week will continue with the chance for attendees to hire Spacecubed’s Podcast Studio, for just $20 for 2 hours, as well as attend workshops, panel discussions and hands-on training for $10 per session.
With 50% of all proceeds going to Radio Lollipop’s Roadshow, Perth Podcast Week is focused on giving back, and shining a light on the community.
“We’re running Perth Podcast Week to showcase WA’s thriving, independent media community, and to hopefully inspire others to start creating their own content,” said Lauren Quinn, co-creator and Spacecubed Marketing Coordinator.

5pm-7pm; International Podcast Day Sundowner with guest speaker, Zion Ong, Director of Alyka
Wednesday – October 2nd
7:30am-9am: Perth Morning Startup presents “Podcast Basics” (panel)
11am-12pm: “Finding your Niche and Target Audience”, with James Lush & Mike Drysdale from Lush, The Content Agency
1pm-2pm: “Podcasting as a Community Building Exercise” with Mike Drysdale
Thursday – October 3rd
1pm-5pm: “Podcasting Basics”, with Crypto Clothesline (workshop)
6pm-7pm: “Group Dynamics of Podcasting” (workshop) with Charlie Gunningham, Abheeti Kathryn Pass and Brett Ryder.
Friday – October 4th
12pm-1pm; “Why Your Business Should Have a Podcast”, with Francis Norman, from Ulfire and The Energy Innovators podcasts (lunch and learn)
All events take place at Riff (Spacecubed), 45 St George’s Terrace, Perth.
