With the New Year about to tick over, we may very well have the same old – unresolved! – resolution we had last year… to live healthy and get fit.

Newly launched KIXXFIT app aims to make keeping fit and healthy simple and affordable by connecting expert coaches across movement, nutrition and mindset to the masses.

Co-founders Lorena Sumich and Jahney Smith want to give the multi billion-dollar health and fitness industry a good shake.

“The up take of the app and download numbers have significantly exceeded our expectations,” Jahney told Startup News.

“The public and industry feedback has blown us away as we look to serve both sides of the market in an innovative way. We couldn’t be happier with the launch and future of KIXXFIT.”

KIXXFIT looks to fill a gap in the industry by equipping users with digestible and affordable end-to end fitness and well-being content while providing coaches with a platform to scale, engage and profit.

For everyday Aussies wanting to make a positive and easy change to their general well being, the app aims to give users access to health and fitness experts in the industry without all the usual hassle.

“Users can start their fitness journey for free, or upgrade their subscription to view additional content making it the perfect addition to existing health and fitness memberships,” said Jahney.

Lorena, CEO and former management consultant at Deloitte, founded the company in January 2018 after being fed up with the – as she described – “fake fitness” applications and unattainable advertising prominent in the health and fitness industry.

Jahney joined as a co-founder and the CMO in 2019 to launch KIXXFIT, after returning from a stint working for global advertising agencies in London.

The platform also provides a place for health, fitness and well-being coaches to offer their own content and be paid for it.

“Experts in the health and fitness space can join KIXXFIT as a coach. The platform connects coaches with a growing community of health and fitness enthusiasts enabling them to scale their operations, expand their reach beyond the gym, and profit off their expertise.”

In this way, the two-sided marketplace looks to give coaches access to a passive income stream when users view their content.

“This means coaches can then focus on making a business off what they do best: making positive change to the health and fitness of everyday Australians,” said Jahney.
