The largest and most prestigious annual IT Awards in WA close applications on 28th February – if you think this could raise the profile of your deserving IT project or startup, get in..!
The 28th annual WAITTA (Incite) Awards recognises IT excellence across more than a dozen categories – including Startup and WA Tech Business of the Year – and could be a great way for you to raise your public profile, and be recognised by your peers for the work you and your team has done.
The awards attracts IT companies of all shapes and sizes, from startups to corporates, web developers, government agencies and everyone in between, culminating in a fancy gala awards night on 14th June.
Finalists are announced at a lunch on 5th April, which is preceded by a pitch fest that all entrants can enter.
Here are the categories:
Most Transformative Impact on Education
For outstanding educational ICT solutions that has the most transformative impact on education, targeting consumers across all education related market sectors to break down barriers to access to education and to transform education and learning in an innovative and impactful manner.
Most Innovative Enabler in Health Care
For outstanding solutions that target health care providers and/or consumers to effectively enable access to health-care services, or to transform the health care environment in an innovative and impactful manner.
Most Impactful Social Benefit
For innovative projects, products and services that target niche markets in order to break down the barriers that prevent some members of the community from fully participating in (and contributing to) society.
Most Effective Infrastructure Solution
For infrastructure ICT systems, consisting of software or hardware or a combination thereof, that facilitates the effective and efficient development of ICT services and capacity.
Startup of the Year
For outstanding digital innovation by a Western Australia-based company in the startup phase of development.
Most Effective Government Solution
For ICT solutions created in WA that are dedicated to providing improved government service delivery or other Digital initiatives for the public that break down barriers to access to government services and to transform government business in an innovative and impactful manner.
Most Transformative Business Solution
For transformative business solutions developed or implemented in Western Australia that deliver automation through the integration of systems, technologies and processes.
Research & Innovation Project of the Year
Research and Innovation constitutes the first stages of development of a potential new service or product by individuals, the community, industry and academia. The award includes digital research development activities undertaken in developing novel ”new to market” services or products or improving existing services or products within Western Australia.
Peter Fillery Best Undergraduate Tertiary Student Project of the Year
This award recognises the most outstanding ICT project undertaken by a Western Australia-based tertiary undergraduate student or group of students, (registered as active undergraduate student in a higher-learning institution, such as a college or university).
Dr. Mal Bryce WA Tech Company of the Year
A leader in the industry, making an outstanding contribution to the diverse economy of Western Australia, standing in its own right while changing and transforming industry.
Pearcey Western Australian Entrepreneur of the Year
Recognises an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the Western Australian ICT Industry. It is aimed at finding an outstanding entrepreneur who has “taken a risk”, “made a difference” and “is an inspiration”.
Achiever of the Year
The Achiever of the Year award is the INCITE Awards peak award and recognises an individual’s outstanding contribution to the ICT industry in WA. Nominees may include a Western Australian educator who has shown excellence in ICT education and demonstrated exceptional outcomes for both students and employers. Past winners include IS managers, academics and persons who have built significant ICT organisations in WA.
Nominations for these last three awards may be made with or without the knowledge of the person being nominated. Only the winners of these categories will be announced at the June 14th Awards night.
