Dirty Clean Foods (DCF) is calling on consumers to start saving the planet one meal at time by supporting the regenerative farming practices of their parent company, ASX-listed Wide Open Agriculture (‘WOA’).

DCF, citing a 2021 UN report, states that food production contributes to approximately 34% of carbon emissions and is also responsible for 86% of biodiversity loss.

DCF CEO Jay Albany says supporting regenerative farming practices helps reduce these numbers. DCF aids in this process by connecting customers with local regenerative farmers through making their products available to the public.

The time to act is now. Experts estimate we only have about 60 years of soil left, and 95 percent of our food – and 25 percent of the planet’s biodiversity – depends on soil.

Jay says the industrial agriculture and food industry has been focused on higher yields and input-heavy systems which deteriorate soils rapidly instead of building healthy biomes which can feed populations for generations.

“Regenerative agriculture provides tools for farmers to sequester carbon into the soil – so not only can we reduce emissions, but we can also draw down carbon. At the same time, these tools build up, or regenerate, our depleted soils. It’s a long-term solution rather than a quick fix” said Jay.

He believes that every year about 50,000sqm of fertile soil is lost.

“Soil is nature’s battery. Building rich microclimates on farms with healthy soils promotes biodiversity, more efficient water cycles, and healthy food production.”

DCF promotes healthy soil as the key to successful farming. By nurturing the soil, it helps it become more ecologically diverse, reducing the need for synthetic chemicals. And with good soil feeding crops, the crops become more resilient to pests and diseases, reducing the need to pesticides and fungicides, according to DCF.

Customers can support this type of farming by having DCF meals delivered right to their door. DCF offers a selection of sustainably farmed meat and vegetables, with bulk orders and mixed boxes available to be delivered straight to your door.

DCF supplies produce to some of Perth’s premier restaurants, with Albany saying “customers can buy the same beef that is supplied to … [the] Rockpool, Petition Kitchen and The Heritage.”

DCF has over 250 products available on their website for home delivery within Perth’s metro area as well as the southwest.
