Australians now have access to telehealth services addressing both physical and mental health needs in an accessible and convenient way.
After gaining an investment from new early-stage investment fund, FundWA, a couple of months ago, Hola Health has launched clinical psychology appointments and bulk-billed Mental health Treatment Plan (MHTP) assessments.
The two latest additions complement Hola Health’s existing online GP and prescription services, creating a comprehensive hub for Australians in search of mental and physical health support.
Hola Health co-founder Lenin Rajendran said the initiative of new mental health services is rooted in the leading provider’s mission to meet the health needs of Australians.
“Our GP services gained really good traction and we started to notice more and more people booking appointments just to talk about their mental health,” Lenin says.
“But since we weren’t offering mental health services at the time, the demand from our patients prompted us to start this.”
Hola Health has been a pioneer in delivering accessible and cost-effective health care since its establishment in 2002, offering telehealth services within 15 minutes of a patient’s request, around the clock, seven days a week.
Lenin said this approach allows Hola Health to overcome the limitations in the availability of medical professionals.
“So much of our lives are lived outside of regular business hours and our health services should reflect that.”
As Hola Health focuses on rolling out its new services, there are more plans in the pipeline.
“For the next few months, we are focusing on implementing our mental health services, improving efficiency and building up our technology,” Lenin says.
“In the near future, we will definitely be looking to expand into more specialised services.”
