The Rise of No Codes
Back in 2020, when New York City wanted to track how COVID-19 was raging through the city, speed was paramount. Their portal was up and running in three days, all without writing any code.
This was enabled by a “no-code” software development platform, created by Unqork, a New York City-based startup. The use of such platforms is on the rise, and a trend that could – some people argue – lead to ‘automated coding’.

According to Gartner, a global research firm headquartered in Stamford, CT, USA, low-code platforms will be used in 65% of application development work by 2024 (1).

Meanwhile, the no codes market has been livening up in Perth, with the existing No Codes Odyssey, co-founded by two Perth entrepreneurs, Carl Maiorana and Elizabeth Knight, in 2021.
