A national competition for pitches from regional and rural entrepreneurs, supported by Australia Post. Sounds great.
You can head here to register, and find out more info:
https://regionalpitchfest.com/
The WA regional heat will be held in Bunbury on Friday 21 July, then they’ll fly the winners over to Wagga Wagga to participate in the finals in August. Winners get cash and coaching.
You need to be resident in a regional area to qualify, you can check your postcode here to see if you qualify: https://regionalpitchfest.com/apply
As a side note, one of the best startup ideas of all time apparently came from one of these pitches: https://www.coolclutch.net – fashion goon bags. Style for the discerning alcoholic.
They also link to the Silicon Paddock site: https://siliconpaddock.community/ which is a great idea to connect regional entrepreneurs.
If you’re down Bunbury way and into startups and entrepreneurship, then check out the Capes Entrepreneurship and Innovation Collaborative Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/capeconnectco/
A shame that the organisers didn’t do the same research and connect with the local startup community to fill out the judging panel for the Bunbury event, though. Hopefully they’ll fix that before the event.
