One of Australia’s few remaining truly independent law firms has taken a bold step, unveiling an innovative opportunity that underscores the evolving dynamics of the Australian legal sphere.
The LawTech Hub by Lander & Rogers has officially opened applications for its seventh accelerator program, with a distinct emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI).
Throughout the six-month equity-free program, participating startups will hone their problem statements and proofs of concept, test their technology through pilot programs, engage with venture capitalists and experts from various funding channels, and expedite the development of their business skills through masterclasses.
Since its launch in 2019, the LawTech Hub has gained recognition for bridging the gap between legal professionals and tech entrepreneurs, fostering transformative legal technology.
Chief Executive Partner at Lander & Rogers Genevieve Collins expressed her anticipation for the upcoming cohort.
“I’m excited about the opportunities that will be created through the seventh edition of our LawTech Hub focusing on artificial intelligence, and the simultaneous launch of our new AI Lab and firmwide AI program.”
Head of Partnerships and Director of the LawTech Hub, Courtney Blackman, is also enthusiastic about the upcoming developments the 2024 LawTech Hub will bring.
“There is quite a lot happening in the legal-tech-meets-AI space, and it will be incredible to work with some of the brilliant minds that are driving the industry forward.”
The announcement comes after the successful completion of the 2023 program, where a cohort of five legal tech startups collaborated closely with lawyers and technologists at Australia’s largest independent law firm.
Their collective efforts were dedicated to constructing, refining, and developing innovative platforms to transform the legal industry.
Selected for their unique ideas and demonstrated ability to execute and further advance them, this diverse cohort represented regions across Australia, with one team joining from Silicon Valley in the United States.
Startups and scaleups revolutionising the legal landscape through AI are encouraged to apply for the seventh intake of the LawTech Hub. Applications are now open and can be submitted here.
