The first Pulse Perth meetup happened last week, and this is Leigh’s wildly positive take on it
What a great night packed full of Perth entrepreneurs, innovators and business people. On Thursday 26th March The Pulse Perth had its official VIP launch party. Held at the funky Niche bar in Leederville the place was packed with over 140 Perth business people. In fact there was actually a line outside the door before opening. The atmosphere was electric as guests discussed their innovative business ideas and confidence in Perth’s growing startup scene.
If you came along, you would no doubt have noticed experienced players eagerly chatting with fledgling entrepreneurs, offering guidance and much needed advice from the school of hard knocks. This is exactly the type of generous spirit we boast about when talking to overseas colleagues about Perth, as we grow into a significant player on the global scene.
Naturally, no launch event would be complete without a competition and prizes. And The Pulse launch was no exception. A competitive knock out quiz ensued, requiring intimate knowledge of the local scene and a few teasers from Silicon Valley. At the end, only three made it through with the king, princess and court jester of Perth’s startup scene crowned (refer picture). Congratulations to Jon Cahill from Zero41 for taking out the crown. Keep that crown safe until next time Jon!
A special thanks to Spacecubed Co-working Space for offering one week free co-working and free function room hire.
