Playup Perth! #3
Saturday 7 June, 2014
1pm-3pm
State Library of Western Australia (25 Francis Street, Perth)
Wanna play some games? You should come.
Wanna test your game? You should come.
Each playup, we playtest new games and game prototypes and give feedback to the designers so they can make them even better. All welcome: players, game designers, and those curious about becoming game designers!
We love physical games, community games, hybrid games, street games, alternate reality games… or something we’ve never thought of yet.
Please note this is an event for grownups, but we are working on it!
We will be playtesting:
1.) “Underwater Story” a new interactive narrative video game by Wendy White. If you’ve ever wanted to clash wits with a mad scientist, high-five a temporal anomaly or romance Cthulhu, you’ve come to the right place. Earn the trust of the inhabitants of an ancient oceanic metropolis in Underwater Story. The player must team up with a citizen of their choice, and learn their secrets and backstory in order to piece together the mysteries of the city. Each citizen has their own tale, and each tale has multiple endings based on the actions the player takes. Explore, befriend, and improvise.
2.) “Bok” a new physical sport by Claude Woodword, which use an innovative racquet design. It turns both hands (and feet) into ‘sprung’ fists to manipulate and propel balls and shuttlecocks. Learn ‘The 5 Ways of Bok’. Play solo or with friends. Vanquish opponents in ‘Battle Bok’ tournaments or work out with ‘Astro Bok’ or ‘Biff Bok’. So many possibilities, so much fun!
