SPEAKER BIOS
Kate Kirwin is passionate about world changing ideas and is dedicated to building pathways for women to enter tech careers. Kate Kirwin founded She Codes Australia in 2015, providing the neworks, technical skills, and confidence for women to enter tech careers.
Born in regional WA, Kate strongly believes in empowering women from some of Australia’s most remote regions. So far, more than 7000 women from all over the country have learned to code through She Codes, with more than $2.5 million worth of scholarships given out to women.
Kate’s motto in life is always bring the sparkle, which you can see at She Codes events. Kate has more than a decade of experience working in events, coming from a background of charity events, which she uses to craft impactful, powerful events and programs. Kate is a skilled community builder having successfully nurtured communities at Spacecubed and Plus Eight as well as She Codes.
Her achievements have been recognised with the Business News 40 Under 40 Award and The West Australian’s Rising Star Award. She was recently named as WA’s 2024 Young Australian of the Year.
Tina Ambrose is the visionary CEO and Founder of Valrose, a pioneering Technology Recruitment company she established in 2018. Her leadership has propelled Valrose to the forefront of the WA market, where it is celebrated by industry peers, clients, and candidates alike. With a string of prestigious industry awards under its belt, Valrose’s impact is a testament to the collective effort of a high-performing team.
Beyond her role at Valrose, Tina is a driving force in promoting gender equality in the tech industry. As the esteemed Co-Chair of Women in Technology WA (WiTWA), she leads initiatives that make a tangible difference. WiTWA’s annual Conference and Tech Awards, Community Events, DEI Corporate Member program, and Techtrails initiative, funded by the federal government, are all dedicated to fostering inclusivity and inspiring the next generation of STEM enthusiasts.
Tina’s remarkable journey has not gone unnoticed. Her achievements earned her a coveted spot as a 2022 Business News 40under40 Award Winner, solidifying her status as a trailblazer and influencer in the business community.
Monique Mattos Vimercati is one of the Managing Partners at Visagio, a global transformation group and people platform recognised for its innovation and wealth generation capability. Engineer by background, she joined Visagio in 2007 as an intern in Brazil, quickly rising through the ranks to become a partner in just four years, demonstrating exceptional performance and leadership.
In 2013, Monique’s leadership took her to Perth to support the growth of Visagio’s operations in Australia. As a director, her strategic vision and business acumen were part of getting Visagio Australia to its current position: an organisation with more than 100 employees, and offices in both Perth and Sydney. The company now services clients not only in all the main states of Australia but also in the Asia-Pacific region
Monique is not just a business leader but also a champion of values. She spearheads the Think WIDE (Wellbeing, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity) initiative at Visagio, fostering a diverse and supportive environment of trust and acceptance. Her commitment inspires all Visagians to feel valued, have a voice, and impact the community.
Monique is a proud mom to 3 kids, has completed the company director’s course at the Australia Institute of Company Directors, represents Visagio Australia at CEOs for Gender Equity, and is very passionate about supporting women in achieving their professional aspirations in the workforce.
Wilson Casado is the Co-founder and Managing Partner of the Australian operations of Visagio and Co-founder of VICI Ventures. Since Visagio’s establishment in the region in 2011, the company has sold almost AUD100MM in professional services, and has successfully executed over 400 projects for more than 15 organisations spanning 10 countries with a team of 100+ people.
Boasting a dynamic career that spans both corporate executive jobs and start-up ventures, Wilson embodies the personas of both entrepreneur and intrapreneur in his professional journey.
A proud son, husband and dad, since launching the Changing The Game show in 2021, he has been dedicated to celebrating innovation, diversity and education. Wilson is an Ambassador of 100 Women, the Chairperson of Perth Angels, and a Venture Partner of Antler.
