► EVENT OVERVIEW
If you’re involved in manufacturing, integrating, or operating IoT or smart devices, even if it’s not for critical infrastructure or smart cities, this is for you.
This event is your opportunity to be both informed and heard in relation to the Australian federal government’s proposed new policies to encourage businesses to invest to increase cyber security threat resilience.
This event is a Perth IoT Community collaboration to encourage engagement and influence all aspects around internet of things. Please read the background material to know more.
► BACKGROUND
Department of Home Affairs is drafting regulation for clear minimum expectations for businesses to:
– Manage cyber security risks,
– Increases transparency and disclosure about security of technology products, and
– Establish legal remedies for consumers after cyber security incidents.

► PURPOSE
This event is one of those rare opportunities where our community actually make a difference.
Public consultation is being sought on regulatory reforms and voluntary incentives to strengthen Australia’s cyber security and interested stakeholders can make a written submission via the Home Affairs website. As written submissions will close on 27 August 2021, Perth IoT is offering to collate community responses for a formal submission through Australian Computer Society.
Let’s once again bring WA’s valued insight and curiosity.
See you soon.
