// // Top tools and tech that grabbed our attention this week.

I’ve scoured the web all week to bring you another round of fresh SN Recommends, as I shine a light on some of the innovative tools that have captured my attention to boost your personal or company’s productivity and success.

This week, I’m featuring a selection of tools that will help your podcast with video editing, create your own AI smart library/knowledge assistant, automate images at scale (it’s what Canva should be able to do), plus we found a tool that will help better your reading habits, and most importantly, the best email client on the market.

This Week’s Top Five Tools To Better Your Business

Descript

You’ve just recorded and filmed your podcast and now there’s the daunting task of editing the audio and video yourself or outsourcing to an editor to bring your podcast video to life.

Descript is what every podcaster needs — with audio and video synced, the AI software is an editing assistant that can do all the tedious stuff, but leaves you in control. Descript makes the obvious edits for you — removing filler words and other verbal clutter. So you get to a clean cut in moments, not hours.

Give it a try

Switchboard

Canva has created a ‘batch’ creator; however, it doesn’t quite work that well with automation flows (yet) and is still quite manual.

Switchboard, however, allows you to automate image creation instantly. The term ‘game changer’ is thrown around a lot these days; however, this is a tool that is a must for any social media and marketing team. For example, it can create hundreds of Instagram Stories in mere seconds by connecting Switchboard to a Google Sheet via Zapier and then whenever a new row is added, a new image is created.

IKI

This is something that really caught my eye, one of the biggest issues with ChatGPT and even GPTs is the noise from all the data.

IKI allows you to build your own AI smart library and knowledge assistant. Upload your own documents and keep them private, create your own collections from files and websites to build your library, and then use the AI autopilot to search and engage with only your library — not the vast plains of everything like ChatGPT.

Matter

Want to be a better reader? Want to have reading superpowers?

The internet is full of things you want to read — articles, newsletters, Twitter threads, PDFs, etc. Matter is an app that brings them together in one place and gives you modern tools, like natural text-to-speech and highlighting, to help you read more comfortably and effectively.

One of the features I rate the most is being able to transcribe my favourite podcast episodes. For those times when you are listening to a podcast and think that was a great quote, or that insight or statistic is perfect for my next meeting — you can turn these into highlights and then be able to reference them at a later date.

Superhuman

Let’s be honest, email isn’t the most glamorous or effective way to manage communications — especially if you are thumblining your way through Gmail.

While getting to inbox zero seems impossible for most, Superhuman is the perfect blend of UX, AI, and functionality. It seems for the first time, a company understands how to better the email experience.

Connect Superhuman directly to your Google or Microsoft account and you will be flying through your emails twice as fast. Easily sort your emails into tabs with rules making it easier to stay across all your comms, when an important email comes through and you are away from your desk, simply swipe your email on your phone and set the reminder to ‘on desktop’ — pushing that important email straight to the top when you are back at your desk.

Superhuman has also released several AI tools as well as integrations with Hubspot. Put Gmail, Outlook, and Mac Mail in the bin today.

Email has never been easier
