The state government has today announced that five successful entrepreneur and investor education programs, supported in 2022, will receive follow-on funding in 2023 also.

The five popular programs will receive more than $375,000 in additional grant funding ranging from $28,000 to $100,000 each, through the X-TEND WA program, which is funded by the New Industries Fund, part of the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI).

This funding is used by service providers to deliver programs that assist small businesses, startups, entrepreneurs and investors.

Atomic Sky’s Quantum TX WA program will receive $100,000 in additional grant funding, there is $99,020 for Innovation Cluster’s Connect Sustainable Industries, $75,000 for VentureX HQ, $75,000 For Blue’s Blue Gravity and $28,000 for Spacecubed’s She Codes.

X-TEND Round 4 now open

Applications are also now open for round four of the X-TEND, and will close 28 March.

Service providers can apply for X-TEND grants of up to $100,000, co-funded.

Notably, this new round features a health and medical life sciences stream, so applications from service providers that can build capability in this sector are strongly encouraged to apply.

“We know one of the best ways we can grow and connect our innovation ecosystem is to increase access to education programs for startups, SMEs and investors,” said the Innovation Minister, Stephen Dawson.

“In 2023, we are providing more than $375,000 in additional grant funding to make sure five successful and diverse programs can continue.

If you’re a service provider that can help build capacity and capability in our innovation ecosystem, especially in the health and medical life sciences, I encourage you to apply now for X-TEND.

Also, the separate Innovation Booster Grant program (for startup founders) closes in just over a fortnight.
