Recognising the importance of entrepreneurship and education in the digital age, ecosystem leader Peter Rossdeutscher has been awarded a prestigious Member of the Order of Australia (AM) honour. This honour acknowledges his extensive contributions to economic inclusion through entrepreneurship and digital empowerment, focusing on efforts to ensure equality of opportunity for all Australians.
The Order of Australia recognises Australians who have demonstrated outstanding service or exceptional achievement. It was established by Queen Elizabeth II and today marks the first round of awards on the King’s Birthday.
Rossdeutscher has been instrumental in promoting the participation of under-represented groups into science, technology and leadership — including First Nations people and women. He serves as Co-Chair of First Nations X and Chair of the advisory boards of Quantum Girls, AROSE (Australian Remote Operations for Space & Earth), and formerly of StartupWA.
For over a decade, Rossdeutscher has been one of the driving forces in the Australian startup ecosystem. A former global tech executive and successful entrepreneur, much of his contribution has been on a pro bono basis.
Rossdeutscher’s dedication to fostering innovation and inclusivity to leverage technology continues to inspire and drive progress in the Australian innovation landscape. He leads Atomic Sky, founded the national Quantum Technology Exchange cross-industry incubators, co-founded regional accelerator initiatives AgriStart and CONNECT, and played a key role in developing innovation precincts for robotics, mining technology, and clean energy.
This year, there are ten West Australians who received the Member of the Order of Australia (AM) award. The full list of recipients can be viewed here.
