// Wangara based company HyperPower Technologies has broken into the world of hyper loop and aerospace with its brand new ‘Quantum Force’ electric motor.
Hyperloop hype may have quietened lately but that hasn’t stopped Perth innovators showing their engineering mettle.
HyperPower Technologies is producing a brand new electric motor that claims to be the world’s first extreme-duty performance emachine.
The motor comes in at 43cm in diameter, about the same size as most car steering wheels, and claims to output up to 1,340 horsepower (1 megawatt in metric).
To put that into perspective, this one, small, electric motor produces more than double the power of the latest Ferrari in today’s showrooms.
The motors sporting credentials aren’t exclusively reserved for ultra-fast transport of the future, with potential applications in today’s market too, from light rail, through to other electric vehicles.
Aligned to a federal government push towards fostering the future of manufacturing and automotive industries, HyperPower Technologies founder and managing firector Michael Fragomeni is justifiably proud of this great, local innovation.
“This motor is the culmination of my career’s effort and a notable milestone for our team to now have the X-series prototype in production, with volume assembly running in parallel,” said Michael.
“[This is] our planet’s first brutally race-specific electric motor, and we’ve innovated many novel technical attributes to achieve [it]”.
