Defence 10x is a $240 million initiative open to any Australian startup building solutions to enhance Australia’s sovereign capability.
The 10-week program aims to accelerate research translation and commercialisation, and is led by the University of Adelaide, UNSW and supported by 50+ industry partners and the Department of Education. Defence 10x provides startups with access to education, capital, networks and shared infrastructure that accelerate product development and commercialisation.
DefenceX is looking for up to 6 teams to advance to the 10-week program.
Backed by the Defence Trailblazer, Defence 10x provides founders with entrepreneurial experience, seed investment, access to R&D capabilities, and the industry and government networks to fast-track their growth.
This is part of the Australian Government’s overarching Universities Trailblazer Program, which aims to build new research capabilities and drive commercialisation in priority areas identified in the Modern Manufacturing Strategy. As part of the program, six Trailblazer Universities have been selected to solve problems of national significance to Australia’s future security and economic growth.
The $240M investment over 4 years includes a federal government commitment of $50 million, matched by university partnerships and an additional $140 million contribution from industry partners.
Applications for 2023 are open until 29 May 2023. Go to the Defence Trailblazer website for more info.
