SNAP is the monthly pitch night for the Perth Startup community, run by //Startup News and Atomic Sky at the Tech Hub in Northbridge.
When we started SNAP we wondered if there was enough demand for pitchers to keep 3 pitches a month going. So far, so good, we’ve had 12 great pitches, including some really fantastic ones, and the response from both the audience and pitchers has been fantastic, this is clearly something that the community needs. But the pipeline is starting to thin out, so we’re calling out for more pitchers.
As I explained last time, pitching is not about getting investment, though you will need to pitch if you want to get investment. Pitching is about creating a “persuasive summary of your idea”, which every single startup absolutely needs to have ready to go. SNAP is about providing a safe place to test your pitch and try things out in front of a friendly audience of your peers. The feedback you get is informed, sympathetic and usually valuable.
So, please sign up to pitch your idea.
If you’re not quite ready to pitch yourself, or want to check out other people’s pitches, buy a ticket and see how it works. Why does it cost $10? because spaces are limited, the room is small enough to be friendly and cosy which means it matters if people sign up but then don’t turn up. Also we provide nibbles and booze 🙂
