Working Remotely – Challenges and Opportunities for Product Teams

Undoubtedly, the COVID-19 pandemic forced product teams to rethink ways of working, and the changes were profound. To discuss these experiences, we’ve put together a panel of leaders in the Product, Design, and Engineering space from technology companies around Perth to talk about some of the key challenges and opportunities faced, and share key learnings and tips to help you adapt in this new age of hybrid/remote working.

Panel members include:

* **Marie Achour** (Global Head of Product, Moodle)
* **Sophia Lewis** (Design Manager, Family Zone)
* **Mark Davies** (Engineering Manager, Healthengine)
* **Marina Tomagnini** (Head of Client Engagement & Delivery, Hatchd)

Come down and participate in conversations with these product development leaders in a session facilitated by our very own **Kieran Gray** (Senior Product Manager, Family Zone).

**Marie Achour** (Global Head of Product, Moodle)
*Marie is an experienced product strategy professional with more than 20 years of experience. As Global Head of Product for Moodle, Marie leads the 70 people at Moodle HQ who design, build and maintain Moodle’s product ecosystem which includes the world’s most popular LMS – an open-source learning platform used by hundreds of millions of learners and educators worldwide to improve our world. She has been described by her peers as outcome-driven, energetic and a true believer in the products and the people she leads. Marie is also a Non-Executive Director for Ruah Community Services and SuitsMe, Not-for-profit organisations supporting people experiencing homelessness, family & domestic violence and mental health issues in WA.*

**Sophia Lewis** (Design Manager, Family Zone)
*Sophia Lewis is a UX designer at heart, but now spends her days leading Design teams, creating Design Systems and developing product strategy for Family Zone. When she’s not talking design she’s talking music – hosting an ambient radio show on RTRFM and spinning techno records as a DJ.*

**Mark Davies** (Engineering Manager, Healthengine)
*Mark has two decades of software engineering behind him with the latter half of that in leadership roles. Working across problem spaces in education, finance and health at startups, agencies and big corporates with local, national and global distributions, Mark has enjoyed a colourful career of discovery and solution and these days he’s excited about the people aspects of building great software products. He is currently looking after devs across three squads in his role as engineering manager at Healthengine.*

**Marina Tomagnini** (Head of Client Engagement & Delivery, Hatchd)
*An all-seeing, all-doing empathetic digital specialist, Marina has a track record of leading product teams to successful outcomes across several industries. In her native Brazil, she has won awards for planning and delivering digital services in collaboration with companies such as Pepsi, Visa & Nestle. Marina heads the overall operations and the product management team at Hatchd, a role that requires her to create a culture that empowers teams and clients to deliver their best work.*
