WA Health Hackathon 2025: Innovating today for a healthier tomorrow
Join us for the WA Health Hackathon 2025 from 19–21 September and be part of shaping the future of healthcare in Western Australia. (And have the chance to share $7,500 in prize money!)
Are you ready to make a real impact on Western Australia’s healthcare system? The WA Health Hackathon 2025—presented by the WA Data Science Innovation Hub (WADSIH) in partnership with the Department of Health and key industry stakeholders—is your opportunity to turn groundbreaking ideas into action.
This event brings together innovators and AI enthusiasts to tackle pressing challenges across our healthcare system. Armed with synthetic data and guided by expert mentors, participants will collaborate on real-world problems—developing prototypes that have the potential to transform patient care and operational efficiency.
Whether you’re a student, developer, data scientist, healthcare professional, or creative thinker, this hackathon offers the perfect chance to apply your skills for meaningful change. Plus, compete for exciting prizes and ongoing support to scale your solution beyond the event.
In the lead-up to the event, we’ll host a series of online and in-person workshops to help you understand the challenges facing WA’s healthcare system and prepare you for success.
Key dates for the Hackathon, held at Curtin University:
📅 Hackathon launch (9 September): Join us for this exciting online event as we launch this year’s Health Hackathon!
📅 Pre-event workshops (9-18 September): Learn about industry challenges, connect with experts, and build your skills.
📅 Friday, 19 September – Team Building: Meet fellow participants and form your hackathon team.
📅 Saturday, 20 September – Hackathon Day: Collaborate, create, and develop your innovative healthcare solution.
📅 Sunday, 21 September – Pitch Event: Present your ideas to industry leaders for the chance to win from a $7,500 prize pool.

- $15 for student participant tickets (university proof of attendance required)
