How OKRs helped a Perth startup grow from zero to millions

How OKRs helped a Perth startup grow from zero to millions

Morning Startup veteran, Jesse Emia, implemented the OKR framework at his business KeepSpace, and will be sharing his experience on how they helped the business grow from zero to over $4 million in revenue in under 5 years.

Jesse will candidly describe the following top three strategies that helped KeepSpace overcome insane challenges:

– Their management system – Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)
– Their culture system – Delivering happiness and tribal teams
– Their share system – Dynamic Equity Splitting and Vesting Agreements

Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) is a goal-setting framework that helps companies tie their strategic objectives with actual day-to-day work and measure progress. OKRs have been adopted by many successful companies such as Google, Uber, Asana, LinkedIn and Microsoft, helping them stay on time and on track what matters most.

Still on the journey today, Jesse wanted to share this story before he ventures into the next KeepSpace chapter – a large expansion that will take him away from Perth to the east coast.

So come along and wish Jesse well for the big move, and learn about some of the systems that can support building your team and your startup’s financial security.

As always, we’ll open the floor for other founders looking for help with the next step to do a shameless plug, as well as half an hour or so of general networking, chin-wagging and startup-related chit chat.

About Jesse
Jesse has been a part of the Perth startup community for over 10 years, watching and developing practical innovations and software systems in the logistics and inventory space. He is an avid learner of entrepreneurship and business development processes and having been in the trenches for over 6 years, he knows how to grind through the crap times and has builit a scalable company with over 18 staff members and growing.

Free oat milk samples from Dirty Clean Food!

But wait, there’s more! You heard Jay Albany and Ben Cole from Dirty Clean Food tell their startup story at Morning Startup just over a year ago, but they’ve recently finalised their second round of financing and are now building WA’s first commercial oat milk plant!

To celebrate, Dirty Clean Food will be providing free oat milk samples (including their oat milk cold brew coffee) for all attendees for the next two sessions to get the word out about this exciting project! Dirty Clean Food’s oat milk plant will be in Kewdale and produce the lowest carbon oat milk on the planet (before offsets!)

If you prefer a hot coffee to get you going, then head across the road to Voltage Espresso and tell them you’re heading to Morning Startup for a small discount on their amazing coffee.
