The TyreConnect Story: Scaling a ‘Bogan B2B’ startup through to successful exit

Ryan Wilson, a former greenskeeper, surfer and son of a tyre retailer had never set foot in startup forum, but in 2015 created a website for selling tyres that immediately took off.

A year later he met serial tech entrepreneur Stephen Langsford (former CEO and founder of Australia’s streaming pioneer Quickflix) and together they managed to turn TyreConnect into Australia’s leading B2B platform for the distribution of car tyres from their headquarters in Kewdale.

After growing annual revenues to $30 million in under five years and establishing TyreConnect as the preferred service for Australia’s largest dealership groups and major passenger vehicle brands, it was no surprise they attracted the attention of ASX giant Carsales, who recently acquired the company.
