A founder’s insights into making the startup journey easier

21 July @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am

After four years and $3.5 Million in investment, Tiller Rides will put its first clean urban mobility product on city streets later this year – a world-leading electric bike called the Roadster.

In this presentation, Tiller Rides co-founder Julian Ilich will share his insights on what has worked to make it possible to get the business this far. He will specifically share thoughts on the role of a ‘higher purpose’, engaging your initial team with success fees, and creating your product by identifying customers on day one and using design thinking.

He will also share some personal reflections on what has worked to manage his own energy and wellbeing through the demanding startup journey to ensure he is at his best.

About Julian

At heart, Julian is driven by his vision of a more sustainable world where all sectors of business and government put people and planet alongside profit. Since leaving school he has worked in a range of areas in alignment with this vision including outdoor education, wind turbine engineering, sustainable building design and sustainability consulting. Over the past 15 years, his vision and entrepreneurial spirit have led him to co-found two businesses, the latest being Fremantle based Tiller Rides. Tiller Rides designs, manufactures, retails and services clean urban transport solutions designed to enable urbanites to use sustainable forms of urban transport every day.
