The Ins and Outs of Advisory Boards with Craig Hook

31 July @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am

The Ins and Outs of Advisory Boards with Craig Hook

You’ve finally nailed down your MVP, and your initial family and friends investors are getting excited. However, key challenges remain in cracking the market.

So, how do you determine the strategic advice you need and from whom?

You have a range of potential advisors, from friends and mentors to your accountant. But perhaps it’s time to consider more structure by creating a governance board or an advisory board.

Creating a board is a strategic undertaking that, when done properly, can accelerate your business growth. Independent, expert, and experienced advisors can provide valuable options, test your thinking, and open doors.

However, there are also risks, such as failing fiduciary obligations, diluting decision-making, and incurring costs.

In this session, seasoned strategic advisor, Craig Hook, will explore:

* What is a strategic advisor?
* Advisory models and why and when you should implement an advisory board.
* Governance through the startup cycle, including funding and exit considerations.
* Governance basics – the minimum you need in place now and future considerations.
* Finding, selecting, onboarding, and remunerating advisors.
