How to apply for an Innovation Booster Grant with Charlie Gunningham

16 March @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am

*This is an online event. Please RSVP to access to the Zoom link.*

We all know it can be hard to get some funding for early-stage startups in WA. Since 2011, the WA government has handed out $3.7 million in cash grants to 200 WA startups and innovative SMEs in what became known as the ‘Innovation Vouchers Program’ in 2017. This has been a core component of the state government’s New Industries Fund ($16.7M commitment over 4 years) ever since. In 2022, it has been renamed the ‘*Innovation Booster Grant*’.

Around 20 WA-based startups and early-stage businesses can receive up to $20,000 in funding through this annual grant process (matched at least 20% by applicant). It is a highly competitive process, so it’s wise for applicants to understand the purpose of these grants, and what the judging panel is looking for.

Newly appointed Director of Innovation at JTSI Charlie Gunningham will explain what the Innovation Booster Grant is all about, who is eligible, how to apply, and (critically), how the external panel of industry experts judge applications (the competitive criteria).

If you are interested in receiving a $20K innovation booster grant for your startup this year, it’s important you attend this event!

Applications for this year’s IBGs should be open in early March, and close on 20 April 2022. Recipients will be announced in July.
