As the Chairman of Innovate Australia, Peter Kasprzak is dedicated to promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. With decades of experience in various industries, Peter is passionate about connecting people and ideas to drive positive change. An enthusiastic user of AI, particularly ChatGPT, Peter appreciates its cutting-edge innovation but also advocates for responsible and ethical use to address potential concerns.
Mr. Amarjeet Singh Takhi, is a seasoned Indian Foreign Service officer, assumed charge in Perth in June 2022. He’s held key roles at the Ministry of External Affairs, Indian Missions, and served at numerous Embassies globally. He established the new Consulate General in Bali, led the Passport Seva Programme, and was instrumental in promoting Indian languages. A University of Delhi graduate, Mr. Takhi has also completed advanced diplomacy studies at Tufts University.
Mr Sriram Birudavolu is a seasoned management executive with over 20 years of global IT/ICT/Telecom industry experience. A PhD holder in Open Innovation in ICT, he has delivered mission-critical IT/ICT enterprise software and worked on global consulting projects. Birudavolu has excelled in incubating cybersecurity startups, executing research and innovation programs, and building capabilities. He’s also the author of “Business Innovation and ICT Strategies” published by Springer Publications, Europe.
Mr Yaz Mubarakai MLA is a dedicated public servant in Western Australia. Born in India, he has navigated his journey from immigrant to influential politician with grace and determination. His entrepreneurial background and business acumen bring a unique, pragmatic perspective to his roles. Mubarakai’s commitment to education, Aboriginal affairs, and multicultural interests are demonstrative of his passion for diverse community representation and advancement.
Sean Driver, an accomplished data scientist and machine learning specialist, serves as the Director of the Perth Machine Learning Group. With a keen interest in fostering community engagement and collaboration, Sean actively promotes research and development in AI and machine learning. He emphasizes the significance of ethical considerations in the field, striving to create a responsible AI ecosystem that supports innovation while addressing societal concerns.
A seasoned Management and Consultancy professional with over 30 years of hands-on experience in Information Technology, Operations Technology, and Process Automation. Extensive experience in delivery of digital transformation solutions by leveraging on existing and emerging technologies like Industrial IoT, Robotic Process Automation, Blockchain, Big Data and AI. Passionate about leveraging technologies to solve real life problems.
Cruz has over 23 years of experience in IT working across multiple geographies including India, US and Australia. He has been in Perth for the last 11 years working with Indian service providers and other marquee organisations in the resources sector. Having started as programmer, Cruz is a leader who has a strong technical knowledge. He is currently in Western Power as Digital Product Stream Manager, working with Western Power’s Asset Management function to identify, prioritise, plan, manage and deliver multiple digital product lines across multiple business functions.
Alex Jenkins is a seasoned technology leader with over 15 years’ experience in implementing AI and data science solutions. Known for developing strategic roadmaps and advocating for AI uptake in new sectors, he excels at understanding customer needs and articulating technology visions. Committed to enhancing AI and data science education in Western Australia, Jenkins fosters collaborations between education, government, and industry, working towards cultivating the next generation of data scientists.
The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Peter Kasprzak, Chairman of Innovate Australia.
