Western Australian agtech accelerator program HARVEST is poised for its sixth year, with applications now open.

The opportunity is available to startups, SMEs, farmers or researchers working on innovative initiatives relevant to the agricultural sector. Applications are welcome from businesses in an early-stage startup phase, to small to medium enterprises.

The program, valued at over $10,000, is free to successful applicants. Participants will benefit from a two-day business boot camp. They will have access to masterclasses and webinars led by expert facilitators. The program also offers two field trips along with showcases and pitch events.

All participants in the program are given the opportunity for selection in a Singapore exchange program.

HARVEST is designed to help participants accelerate the commercialisation of their innovation. They benefit from connecting with like-minded entrepreneurs and growing their industry networks.

Over the six years that HARVEST has run, it has supported over 70 businesses.

Technol founder Neil Grice is among those who have benefited from the program. His innovation, AgriGard, allows for the automatic detection and extinguishing of fires.

“HARVEST delivered program excellence in terms of its structure and delivery, and was led by knowledgeable and professional people,” Mr Grice said.

The main benefits were how to generate and deliver a succinct and relevant pitch to investors; business planning and financial management skills; and networking.

“We were given the resources to develop a clear vision and pathway forward for the business, and to formalise and document this to know where we are as a business and where we want to go,” he said.

Applications for HARVEST close on 30th March 2023 with the program commencing in May.
