Perth Angels open first funding round for 2022

Fresh from investing $250K into three companies that presented at their last pitch night, the Perth Angels investor group is now open for fresh opportunities, and has opened its first funding search for the year.

If any early-stage founders are interested in pitching to them, the deadline for submissions is Weds 16 Feb, with a subsequent pitch night being held on the evening of Weds 2 March.

Process

Submit your pitch Deck and 5 min video via their investor platform here (no referral required).

All submissions will then be reviewed by the Deal Screening team. Submissions that pique the interest of investors will be invited to formally present to Perth Angels and provided mentoring in preparation.

3 – 4 teams will be invited to present at Investor Evening on Wed 2 March (will pivot to online as per previous COVID times if required).

Who are Perth Angels?

Perth Angels is a NFP “committed to supporting the next generation of WA innovators” setting out to make a difference in the world. They are a “community of WA entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders passionate about building a thriving innovation ecosystem in our State”.

Managed by a Volunteer Board:

  • Chaired by Wilson Casado (Managing Partner, Visagio)
  • Board Member Jamie Davison just named one of Aus’ Top 100 Young Entrepreneurs , alongside Mel and Cliff (Canva), Nick Molnar (Afterpay), and Go1 team (recent Aussie Unicorn) 

Previous Investments

Last Investor Night saw 3 out of 4 pitches receive investment, representing $250k deployed (company names can’t be revealed yet).

Previous investments include Bunsters, Electro Aero, The Volte, WeMoney and Rex Ortho.

Perth Angels are looking to invest in early stage startups who:

  • are industry agnostic
  • are seeking an investment in the ~ $100k – $500k range
  • have a product or service at the minimum prototype (MVP) level
  • have proof of customer validation of problem to be solved
