Down at the new Proptech Hub in the city last Thursday night, the inaugural Proptech Hub WA Awards 2021 were held, as organised by Cullum Ashton, and sponsored by PEXA.

Startup News was there, having sponsored the Rising Stars Award. The who’s who of property and tech were there also including representatives from REIWA, Domain, PEXA, VaultRE, Openn and other stalwarts of the industry.

Tom Young and his UDrew team took out the major honours, winning Members Choice award (as voted by Proptech Hub members). Tom and UDrew also took out two national awards the same night – the only proptech in the country to do so – as the inaugural Proptech Association awards were also streamed live from Sydney and Brisbane.

PropTech Association Australia (National Awards)

Streamed live from the Ashurst Sydney, there were 21 national proptech awards, and WA startups and scale-ups won an impressive 4 of them…

  • Scale Up Most Innovative PropTech, Operations & Administration – Vault RE

VaultRE is a cloud-based sales and listings management, CRM and property management system, previously known as My Desktop. The original founders and developers Scott Wullf and Adam Campbell were there on the night to accept the awards.

Incredibly impressive, and no wonder the big brands are jumping on board & taking away the hassle of using more than one database for their businesses. Cloud based and open APIs . . . they appear to have all bases covered. Agile approach and responsiveness to developing technology and changing market requirements.

  • Scale Up Most Innovative PropTech, Design & Development – Udrew

For its interactive solutions to streamline and automate the Design, Planning and Approval of residential building projects, producing certified and compliant plans in minutes.

Judges comments: “An exciting submission that articulates a thorough knowledge of their target market. Their future roadmap is clearly outlined, with long term investment and a development strategy. User-friendly experience obviously adopting gaming tech. It’s so relatable, especially to younger property owners. It collaborates with industry, end users and councils to streamline the design, approval and construction process.”

Proptech of the Year (Scale Up) – Udrew

Udrew was the only proptech to win TWICE in the national awards, a very impressive achievement. Congrats to all that took part, and especially the always energetic Cullum Ashton…

And none of this would have happened without the energy and enthusiasm of Proptech GM Cullum Ashton
