Launched earlier this week at the appropriately swish new Vibe Hotel in Subiaco, the ‘Subiaco Connect’ program is a collaboration between the City of Subiaco and Atomic Sky, and is partly funded by the Australian government’s Entrepreneur’s program
Applicants are now invited from interested startups and innovative businesses, and close on the 15th January 2021.
The free six month program aims to connect new businesses and innovators with experienced mentors, investors and advisors who will guide participants in commercialising their business idea.
The program focusses on research, assessment, testing, marketing and source funding to convert ideas from paper and into reality.
The program culminates with a showcase event where participants pitch their business idea to real investors.

- Showcase & Pitch Night – 17 Aug 2021
At the launch, Subiaco Mayor Penny Taylor said the city already had a high concentration of startups in the creative industries, health and digital sectors, and was aiming for more.
“We’ve piloted a number innovation programs this year, from business capability workshops to investor pitch nights, and entrepreneurs are screaming for more,” she said.
“I want all budding entrepreneurs, startups and new business operators to know the City of Subiaco is here to welcome and support them.
“I would love to see the City become a hub for innovators as we continue to build on the startup movement that’s present in Subiaco.”

The City of Subiaco recently partnered with Curtin University, Perth Angels and AustCyber to deliver innovation programs that support and attract small businesses to the area.
