The best week of the year is here!

It’s West Tech Fest time – with events ranging from pitching to podcasting to panellising, DJ’g, snorkelling and keynoting, on land and on sea, from Freo to Kings Park to the Mid-West and beyond…

It’s time to put the keyboard away, pack the jammies and go all in, cos #WTF is here.

11 metro events crammed into 4 days, plus trips out to the Geraldton, Gascoyne and beyond after that.

Startup News, together with our good friends at Startup WA, are right in amongst it with our very own Startup Party on Monday night – officially a sell out. As is Tuesday’s Rotto Tech Fest, but there are still tickets for some other events, so get in!

The wind that whips in from Fremantle also stirs up Silicon Valley kite surfing types once a year, and they will be here. It’s your chance, startups of WA, to rub shoulders, swap business cards, inspire them with your elevator pitch. Maybe do a deal.

Canva started its life at the forerunner of WTF, OzApp Awards, in 2012. They’re now worth north of US$1B.

It ain’t gonna happen unless you ask. So polish up your ask, and get out there.

And do come along and say ‘hi’ – Startup News will be at most of the events, reporting, photographing and trying to outlast everyone.

Normal service will resume the week after…

All startup events on this Calendar are free, in Perth (unless otherwise stated) and correct at time of publishing… but please check links for full details, as things may have changed.

  • If you’d like to have your WA startup event showing on this calendar, please email with all the information, including booking details (e.g. Eventbrite link).
