Female entrepreneurs are in for an amazing 10 week business course in the next few months, thanks to BubDesk and Rare Birds.

They have just announced Take Flight; the only female series of its kind in Perth. This program will bring you together with a diverse range of skills, industries and out-of-the-box thinkers.

The Take Flight series will see 10 of Perth’s leading entrepreneurs host workshops at BubDesk’s Perth headquarters, mentoring participants through a holistic 10-week business course covering topics from bookkeeping basics and trademarks through to marketing and mindset presentations.

The series is hosted by BubDesk; Perth’s co-working space with a crèche, in partnership with Rare Birds; a global community of female entrepreneurs whose mission is to inspire women into the business arena.

BubDesk founder and director Meg Burrage said the Take Flight Series was the only female series of its kind in Perth and would be a valuable business investment for women starting out in the business world through to those who have an established brand. She said it will bring together a structured program of learning, leading mentors, access to full-time office facilities and the infrastructure required to succeed.

“Are you in the first 12 months of business feeling a little overwhelmed? Are you toying with the idea of quitting your day job to follow your dream? If you’re anything like us, you’ve jumped head on into a new business because it ‘felt right’ without too much consideration for the underlying fundamentals (or the boring stuff),” Ms Burrage said.

“Let’s face it, sometimes when you have an idea you just have to run with it, but we all know as a start-up you’ll be everything from the bookkeeper to the social media campaigner to the payroll officer and everything in between, so if you don’t have the basics down pat, you’re going to have to learn them quickly.”

“Take Flight brings together some of Perth’s most sought-after mentors in a 10-week business bootcamp, arming participants with all of the basics needed to run a successful business. Series graduates can then choose to continue onto the more advanced programs that delve into media training and outsourcing manufacturing.”

The workshops will take place every Wednesday evening from October 12 at 6-8pm, with the series concluding on December 14. It will be held at BubDesk’s welcoming office space at 12 Lindsay Street in Perth.

The full Take Flight Series package includes the workshops, unlimited 24/7 use of the BubDesk offices, monthly mentoring with a Rare Birds mentor to keep you on the right path, access to a private Facebook group for ongoing support, four hours of meeting room access per month, free use of the BubDesk premises to host events, regular social media shout-outs to BubDesk’s rapidly growing network and monthly networking event.

“Take Flight will bring you together with a diverse range of skills, industries and out-of-the-box thinkers. There will be some hard truths along the way (and possibly some tears) but by the end of the 10-week program you’ll have the chance to validate your idea, learn the critical skills required to take that next step and network with the people you’ll need to know if you’re going to success.”
