In exciting news, another Perth startup accelerator has been announced, from Western Australian Insurance Fund, HBF, in partnership with Perth’s largest co-working space, Spacecubed.
HBF Activate is a new startup accelerator launched by WA’s largest health fund, HBF in collaboration with Spacecubed.
They are focused on supporting the next wave of digital disruption in the health sector and are looking for WA’s best and brightest to join the 10 week Perth based program. They will provide seed funding, workspace, mentors and a structured program to take your idea from concept to market.
There are three stages to the program, being a series of free workshops, then a Hackathon to be held in late August, and then the top three winning solutions will each be awarded $30k funding (in exchange for a 6% equity stake) and a place in their 10 week accelerator to take the product to market.
There are four ‘themes’ which the accelerator wants to see covered, being;
Lifelong health: How can HBF harness new technology to help people be healthier and happier throughout their entire lives?
A ‘life stage’ health partner: Explore a particular ‘life stage’ eg teenager, young adult, new parent. How can new technology enable HBF to improve people’s health at these specific life stages?
Making healthy happen: Using technology, what can be achieved to help our members address health issues such as stress, obesity, depression and avoid or manage serious chronic health conditions.
The Private Health Insurance experience: How can HBF use technology to enhance members’ experience – from point of purchase to claiming?
