Founder Institute (FI) is a global accelerator program based out of Silicon Valley. It has been running in Perth since 2013, and has helped many Perth startups to get to the next level. The 2016 cohort is open for applications, here’s the press release.
We are excited to announce the launch Founder Institute Perth 2016. Founder Institute is a leading global digital ideas stage accelerator program based out of Silicon Valley. The program is now running in over 100 cities worldwide and has successfully launched over 2000 companies to date. We will kick off the intake period with our usual information nights as follows, with the 14 week semester commencing on July 18th:
- April 27th 6.30pm (SpaceCubed) – Start Up 101: Making the leap from employee to entrepreneur (Speakers: Charlie Gunningham: Business News & Dan Jovevski: Switch My Loan)
- May 18th 6.30pm (SpaceCubed) – Start Up Ideation Bootcamp: The Characteristics of good ideas (Speakers: Andrew Hall: Founder Institute / Stone Ridge Ventures & Andy Lamb: Atomic Sky)
- May 25th 6.30pm (SpaceCubed) – Start 101: How to raise capital for your idea (Speakers: Matt Macfarlane: Yuuwa Capital Founder Institute & Rob Nathan: Vocus Upstart)

This year the early admissions deadline is June 5th with final applications due by July 10th. All applicants received by the 5th of June will be eligible for fellowships (i.e. waiver of the $1200 USD semester fee). Last year we reached our capacity of 50 confirmed founders well before the final admissions deadline.
Special Announcement: This year we aim to expand the availability and timeliness of investment options to the start up community by holding a demo night upon the completion of the semester with many of Perth’s investment community present. Only the best FI graduates will be selected to present.
