After two years building WA’s first tech focussed PR consultancy, Launchcode will be relocating to Melbourne in January 2016 to focus on US media and investor relations support for Australian startups looking to go global.
Director Shahirah Gardner says the strategic relocation will better serve clients on both coasts.
“With the current spotlight on innovation in government policy, 2016 will offer more support and opportunities for startups to compete on a global scale,” says Shahirah. “We believe our Silicon Valley experience combined with an east coast presence can significantly raise the profile of Australian startups in an exciting but competitive market.”
Among last year’s key projects, Launchcode led the national launch campaign for Australia’s first property crowdfunding platform, CrowdfundUP, alongside a US product launch for Agworld’s Apple Watch app.
Shahirah has also been a dedicated startup mentor across a number of accelerator programs including Amcom Upstart, Energise and Founder Institute where she has provided dozens of founding teams with practical PR and marketing insight. She was also a mainstay of the organising team for the 2014 Startup West. The Perth community is lessened by her leaving, and we hope she’ll be back. Shahirah said:
