Paper Mountain is a Perth based artist run initiative with a gallery, co-working space (The Common Room) and studios, located in the heart of Northbridge, WA.

Paper Mountain presents a top notch program of surprising new art and ideas, and is dedicated to supporting a broad span of contemporary art projects. Our space is malleable and we use it to nurture experimentation, to challenge artists’ practices, and to encourage collaboration and skill/resource sharing.

Founded in late 2011 by Anna Dunnill, Amber Harries, Stephen Genovese & Joanna Sulkowski, Paper Mountain is currently co-directed by a team of five who between them manage: the studios, special projects, exhibitions, events, communications, finance, media & artistic programming.

The Common Room is a membership-based co-working space for the creative community.

It’s aimed at those in the creative industries who need a place to work but might not need, or be able to afford, a private studio or office. It’s an ideal working space for those who like to be around other creatives but also just want to sit quietly and get stuff done. Signing up as a member is affordable at less than $10/week for 6 month memberships, or $75/month for a month-by-month trial membership. Common Room members will be able to access a growing creative community, as well as a fully resourced, beautiful workspace in a central location. The Common Room includes large central tables for sprawling creative projects, meetings and workshops; smaller desks for more contained work (like drawing and writing) and a mezzanine loft space with couches and rugs. The Common Room was funded by a Pozible crowd-funding campaign which you can read more about HERE.

Your membership will include:

• Access to The Common Room 9.30am – 5pm, Tuesday – Sunday
• Use of all of the desks, couches, tables and loft in the space
• Access to unlimited wifi
• Use of The Athenaeum; a library of books, journals and zines
• Use of the materials library; a store of basic art making supplies (scissors, glue, paper)
• Use of the downstairs wood-workshop; filled with tools and a sturdy bench
• Free web hosting if you BYO domain name

You can secure your Common Room membership right HERE right now!
